Does SIG Transport own HGVs?
No. Our own fleet operates within the van sector. We arrange larger road haulage using vetted external carriers and remain your coordination contact.
Can you arrange a 7.5t, 18t, 26t or articulated truck?
These are available as quotation options through subcontractors, subject to vehicle type, loading restrictions, location, lead time and partner availability.
How do you decide which truck is needed?
We consider total load weight, each item’s dimensions, pallet configuration, access height, loading equipment, route and delivery constraints before confirming a vehicle.
Is cargo automatically insured to its full declared value?
No. All loads are subject to the agreed contractual liability provisions and applicable carriage conditions. Declare the value and any special risk in advance; ask us to confirm any additional cover in writing.
Are waiting and cancellation terms confirmed before booking?
Yes. For HGV movements, free loading time, waiting and cancellation terms are confirmed with the accepted quotation. Customers can review standard supplementary charge guidance in their portal.
Can I follow the movement or receive delivery paperwork?
We coordinate agreed updates and request proof of delivery from the performing carrier. Real-time live tracking and document formats depend on the job, carrier and agreed service.
