Full Truckload Transport (FTL) for UK Businesses

Shipping a substantial pallet load, retail stock or industrial goods? SIG Transport coordinates full truckload and suitable rigid-vehicle movements through independent, vetted haulage partners. We remain your main point of contact for the quotation and transport coordination.

When is a full truckload the right option?

A full truckload (FTL) is commonly used when one consignment needs dedicated vehicle space or when delivery planning is easier with a vehicle assigned to the load. The right option depends on pallet quantity, dimensions, weight, loading facilities, collection times and delivery restrictions.

Not every shipment needs an articulated trailer: a 7.5, 18 or 26 tonne rigid may be more appropriate, subject to legal payload, internal body dimensions and access. We confirm vehicle suitability against the actual load, rather than treating indicative fleet capacities as guaranteed.

Manufacturing and distribution

Transport for production materials, packed goods, components and planned stock movements between sites.

Retail replenishment

Bulk store deliveries and warehouse-to-warehouse loads with collection appointments and delivery booking requirements.

Palletised consignments

Dedicated movement of multiple pallets, subject to pallet footprint, stackability, total gross weight and handling facilities.

Tell us about the load, not just the vehicle

To arrange an accurate FTL road freight quotation, please provide:

  • Collection and delivery postcodes, required dates and booking times
  • Total pallet count, footprint, load height and overall weight
  • Whether the goods are stackable or require special securing
  • Loading and unloading equipment available at both sites, including forklift or tail-lift requirements
  • Any ADR, temperature-sensitive or higher-value cargo requirements that need checking before acceptance

How SIG Transport operates: we coordinate larger UK road freight using subcontracted haulage partners; we do not own an HGV fleet. Availability, service terms, carrier suitability and quoted charges are confirmed for each job.

FTL frequently asked questions

What is the difference between FTL and pallet delivery?

FTL usually means a dedicated vehicle for a particular shipment. Pallet delivery can include smaller pallet consignments or full vehicle movements, depending on the job.

Can you arrange an articulated HGV?

We can seek availability through suitable subcontracted haulage partners. Access, payload and body type will be confirmed against the shipment requirements.

Are published vehicle capacities guaranteed?

No. Any fleet figures are indicative only and vary with vehicle configuration, axle weights, loading method and legal operating limits.
